The NCCC in conjunction with the Arapahoe National Forest and Colorado Parks and Wildlife have enacted a Voluntary Closure of the Triple Tier Climbing Area's due to an active Golden Eagle Nest until July 31st. This effects Chimney Sweep Wall, Middle Class Wall, Upper Echelon and the Sail. The area will be re-evaluated this coming winter season to determine whether it will be an annual closure starting in 2024.
Per Waverly Davis: there's an active golden eagle nest at Middle Tier as of April 30, 2023. The parent was flying in and out of the nest, and we heard chick noises. It would be polite to avoid the entire Triple Tier area until the chicks fledge. Golden eagles are more sensitive to disturbances than bald eagles, and I think they deserve a wide berth until the nest fledges. I reported it to CPW, but in the meantime, please avoid this area!
Description
This is a link-up where a semi-bouldery intro leads to bigger holds and bigger moves for a handful of bolts. The upper crux will test your crimps, and without fingers of steel, you will not pass. Finally a couple more bolts of easier slab, much similar to the top of Tailspin, as the anchors are no more than 3 feet away.
Location
Begin on the first bolt of Tailspin, after the first clip start your traverse left to the second bolt of Folsom Flute.
