Description
This boulder has no doubt been forgotten and re-discovered dozens of times by bored or frustrated climbers working the classic Double Arete. It is surprisingly fun and rewards good technique and precise footwork.
Climb the thin, somewhat licheny slab just left of the Double Arete Boulder. Start with the super thin, slanting, slot crimp at about chest level, use some creative feet, and lunge left to the obvious, full-pad crimp rail in the middle of the face. From here, there are two options:
- Go left towards the large, flat sidepull, and stand up into a casual finish (for extra style points, try a dynamic hand switch on the good crimp rather than matching). This is slightly easier, V3ish.
- Go right/straight up to the obvious, sidepull crimp higher on the face, and finish straight up. This way is a bit more technical, perhaps V4.
