FA: Mike Pajunas, R. Hansen, C. Martin, April 1986
Oregon > Portland & The… > Rocky Butte > Wall of Shadows > Right Side

Description

Start in a corner to get to the top of a ledge about 6 feet up. From here, utilize the thin crack until you get to the upper ledge with a tree on top of it

Location

From 92nd and Skidmore take the trail up to the rock face. Look for the cave that has been enclosed with a rock wall, which you walk down to and turn right to follow the thin trail. Then look for the big block, with a crack heading up, and a tree in an alcove up top. That is the start

Protection

Bolted anchor behind the tree

[Hide Comment] Start at the inside corner and surmount the block, 12 feet. Facing the small alcove stem your feet and work up to a varied Crack, tips and fists. When you come to the overhang move left following the easiest terrain past a small stump. Follow back to the right past two piton, and onto the easy slab, one bolt. And finish by the tree.
There is a second pitch if you want. Move your belay up to the ledge behind the tree you have two options, left or right. Both are harder than the first pitch, the left is harder than the right. Sep 21, 2024
