Description
This route can be taken as an approach to reach the start of East Ridge on Wolf's Head, as an alternative to the grassy ledges approach to Wolf's Head. Follow the gully up between Pingora and Tiger Tower.
From the cairn marking the approach up the south buttress of Pingora, continue towards the south gully of Tiger Tower. The route has lots of loose talus and rocks, but is mostly third class with some sections of fourth through chimneys. At the top of the gully, a pitch of fourth then fifth will bring you to the summit (you may want to rope up and simul climb this section). From here, look for slings around a boulder to rappel a short distance (~30 ft?) onto a ledge, then walk ~10 feet and look for another set of slings around a boulder to do a second very short rappel into the notch between Tiger Tower and Wolf's Head. This will be the start of the East Ridge route on Wolf's Head.
