Description

10' of vertical, 3" thick ice leads to thicker ice. Dry tool (frozen gravel?) to easy snow. Traverse left on easy snow to the upper ice fall (easy, thick, stair step ice). The ice disappears again, so move up onto snow up to a tree, 60'. This south-facing ice is shaded by big trees and was climbed in January. By February, the start was too thin to ice climb.

Location

See the map.

Protection

Ice pro + a thin piton or #3 beaks for the belay at the bottom (or tied off screws).
