Description
Fern Crack is a hidden gem that seems to not get a lot of action and looks to have been somewhat reclaimed by the forest. The crux is right off the ground. Start with a high right foot hold with a small pocket and dirty jug. Work your way under the roof to some sweet holds just below the crack. Now climb through this thin, overhung finger crack (crux) up to a sweet, hand fist crack up to the the top. You can use the bolted anchor for Beat The Clock if you’d like.
As of now, this climbs crux has been claimed by the ferns. I’ll definitely be back to clean up the overgrowth so the crux is doable.
This climb can seep green slime and stay wet early in the season. The best time to climb this is mid-summer to fall.
