Most of the 14-acre property at Hanging Mountain has been designated as Priority Habitat by MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP). As a result, Hanging Mountain and any work performed there is heavily regulated to ensure that the WMCC is in compliance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act and Wetlands Protection Act.

I appreciate the safe bolt spacing on this route, inspiring me to push myself past moderates and onto the fun stuff. The crux for me was convincing myself to try it. As a shortie (5'5"), I was able to clip high before committing to the hard moves.

There is the potential for the rope to get stuck in a crack when toproping (depending on where belayer stands). It happened to me when I was pulling the rope for my second to follow, but we thankfully noticed and were able lot flick the rope out before it got too stuck. Be conscious, have fun, get on it!
