Description Suggest change

Approach from Twin Lakes Horse Creek trailhead. The Ski Dreams is visible as the leftmost of the two possible ways to the East Ridge from the toe of the Matterhorn Glacier. Ascend the couloir to the East Ridge and head up and right over 3rd class ledges to the summit, or continue around to the southern aspect for easier terrain.

French alpine grade: AD-
Snow grade on the couloir is around 40-50° based on snow conditions.
Elevation gain reported here (~314 feet) is only for the couloir part. The approach is around ~4000 feet elevation gain, about 5 miles in. If you want to get to the top of Matterhorn Peak, add ~800 feet elevation gain of 2nd/3rd class to the top after the couloir. Total elevation gain about ~5000 feet and it's ~11 miles round trip for the top
