Description
Another classic line at Feral Petunia and contender for one of it's hardest, Superunknown is a variation that links up to the last (only) 4 bolts of the Unknown 10+ on the sweet, Penitente-like upper headwall (felt like 5.11 to me). Engage in a difficult crux at bolts 2 and 3 to gain the cool 5.10 middle section. Trend right to access the bolts on the steep, patina headwall.
Location
Superunknown is in the alcove on the furthest right formation of the East Feral area encountered on the way up to Upper Feral. This sector now has 3 routes; Unknown Arete (5.10b) on the left, Superunknown in the middle, and Unknown 5.10+ on the right, which is a mixed route that climbs 5.9 crack to the bolted headwall. (see topo the photo).
