Description
Ascend the quasi-bathtub featured face. Multiple options exist - follow your nose. Attain the gully after 100' +/-, as per the Sunshine Slab description, or wander west (leftward) and climb through the "bathtubs" above Sunshine Slab to a point below the summit overhangs. You can climb the last pitch of either Scholdaze or Upper Lip, or escape by traversing the face below the summit cap by trending to the east (climber's right) for a few hundred feet (depending upon your choice of line, you will very likely encounter some climbing that is at least 5.4/5.5). This will deposit you at the very large, VERY DEAD pine tree that can be, and is, used to rap from. (Note: you can also easily scramble to the summit from here.)
At the time of this writing, there were two independent cords with a triangular screwlink to use to rap from this tree. A 60 meter rope WILL NOT REACH all the way to the forest floor, but from the first major ledge below it, you can scramble off (3rd/4th Class?) to the climber's right. Caveat emptor. There is also another rap station wrapped around a large boulder and built of cord and metal above and to climber's right of this tree.
