Description

Another nice Cimarron amphitheater climb.

P1. Climb a 30-foot WI3 flow in the drainage, or maybe turn it on the right.

Continue up to the large amphitheater.

P2. Climb the fat column for 80 feet to a tree with cord.

The broad curtain to the left may touch down some years offering a longer pitch in the WI5 range.

Location

Just under 1 mile before the summer trailhead for Cow Creek (5.5 - 6.5 miles from where the plow stops), look for ice in a prominent drainage to the southwest. Head back down the hill 1/4 mile, then descend to the creek and contour south and west into the drainage.

The price of admission to this climb, lengthy road approach notwithstanding, is the aggravating bushwhack 600 feet up the drainage.

Protection

Screws.
