ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
Named for the same song that's referenced by Rude Boys and Boy Prophet, this route starts as for Rawhide, but then climbs straight up after clipping the second bolt. To me it felt like the crux was the start of Rawhide, but there are some tricky sections above. (as well as some friable rock!) My partners and I broke off a handful of small edges while climbing this and I expect there's still some larger stuff that will pull out with time, so be careful. I gave it 4 stars because in a year or two/once it gains popularity, this thing will probably merit it and be totally slammed. Until then, it realistically only deserves three. Expect some time bombs lurking in the meat of the route, but enjoy the lack of crowds and chalk.
