Most of the 14-acre property at Hanging Mountain has been designated as Priority Habitat by MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP). As a result, Hanging Mountain and any work performed there is heavily regulated to ensure that the WMCC is in compliance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act and Wetlands Protection Act.

Description
Stem between a flake feature and the wall proper, and after the first bolt, move up a bit higher, then move right onto the face. This is more sustained than its neighboring 5.8s. Generally positive holds lead to a crux near the top.
Location
Start right of a flake feature on the right half of Progressive Wall, but then head directly up a steeper, clean face.
Protection
5 quickdraws to reach quick-links at the top, stick clipping first bolt recommended
