Description Suggest change

This is the standard route up Crestone Peak. Follow the loose, dirty trail or the center of the gully up the mountain. It should be easy to keep this route to 3rd Class. Right before the ridge, escape the gully climber's left, and climb exposed 3rd Class terrain to the summit.

Location Suggest change

From South Colony Lakes, follow the trail over Broken Hand Pass. There is a short section of 3rd Class to get up there. Then drop down to the beautiful, alpine Cottonwood Lake, and keep following the trail to the gully.

Protection Suggest change

No pro is needed in good conditions.
