Access Issue: Variable Hunting season - Saison de chasse variable
Details
Cette année (2025), la fermeture de ces deux sites d'escalade pour la chasse à l'arme à feu est du samedi 11 octobre au dimanche 26 octobre inclusivement.
Cependant, le Sanatorium fermera EN PLUS pour la chasse à l'arc et à l'arbalète du samedi 20 septembre au dimanche 5 octobre inclusivement.
Pour rappel:
ces sites d'escalade se situent sur un terrain privé qui est englobé par la ZEC, mais avec des dates de chasse souvent différentes de celles de la ZEC. Le propriétaire du terrain nous a averti, si lui ou ses amis nous voient passer sur son terrain durant ces dates, il va remettre en question notre accès. Alors, de ne pas y aller pendant la chasse est un moindre mal en échange d'un accès libre le reste de l'année.
Gros Bonnet (A.K.A. Le Cap des Sept Côtes) - Sanatorium, closed for hunting
This year (2025), these two climbing sites will be closed for firearm hunting from Saturday, October 11 to Sunday, October 26, inclusive.
However, the Sanatorium will ALSO be closed for bow and crossbow hunting from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, October 5, inclusive.
Reminder:
these climbing sites are located on private land that is part of the ZEC, but with hunting dates that often differ from those of the ZEC. The landowner has warned us that if he or his friends see us on his property during these dates, he will reconsider our access. So, not going there during hunting season is a small price to pay in exchange for free access the rest of the year
Description
Start of the anchor at the base of the eighth pitch of L'Odyssée.

If you're feeling up to it, take on the incredible aerial traverse to your left (5 bolts). Use the ramp and make your way to the end of the spur by swinging over the void. From there, draw on the strength of the monkey in you and reach a crack to the right to reach the roof of the world. There is an anchor on the tip of the spur.
Si vous vous sentez d’attaque, prenez à l’assaut l’incroyable traverse aérienne à votre gauche (5 plaquettes). Utilisez la rampe et faites votre chemin jusqu’au bout de l’éperon en vous balançant au-dessus du vide. De là, puisez la force du macaque en vous et atteignez une fissure vers la droite pour rejoindre le toit du monde. Un relais se trouve sur la pointe de l’éperon.

Climb the slab above the anchor and then return to flirt with the void on the ridge to the right where there is a very good hidden hand crack. Climb it then turn left to emerge under a roof. Under the roof, cross to the right following the crack. Mantle yourself on a large comfortable ledge then continue up the dihedral on the left. Follow the cracks to the final anchor of L'Odyssée. Follow the fixed rope to the right to join the descent path.
Grimpez sur la dalle au-dessus du relais puis retourner flirter avec le vide sur l'arête à droite où se trouve une très bonne fissure à main cachée. Gravissez-là puis retourner vers la gauche pour déboucher sous un toit. Sous le toit, traversez vers la droite en suivant la fissure. Rétablissez vous sur une grande vire confortable puis poursuivez dans le dièdre sur la gauche. Suivez les fissures jusqu'au relais final de L'Odyssée. Suivez la corde fixe vers la droite pour rejoindre le sentier de descente.
Location
To get to the L'Odyssée : Drive past the first Gros Bonnet parking lot for about a kilometer and park near a boat launch along the river. Cross the logging road to find the trailhead marked by an opening in the forest. At the only intersection, take a left and continue on the trail until you reach the obvious trailhead at the foot of a clean slab.
Macaque-Attaque is located in the upper wall of the Great Slabs, diagonally to the right above the large orange scar. To get there, you must climb the first seven pitches of L'Odyssée.
Pour accéder à L'Odyssée : Dépassez le premier stationnement du Gros Bonnet d'environ un kilomètre et stationnez vous près d'une mise à l'eau en bordure de la rivière. Traversez le chemin forestier pour trouver le début du sentier marqué par une ouverture dans la forêt. À la seule intersection, prendre à gauche et poursuivez sur le sentier pour finalement arriver au départ évident au pied d'une dalle propre.
Macaque-Attaque se trouve dans le mur supérieur des Grandes-Dalles, en diagonale à droite au-dessus de la grande cicatrice orange. Pour y accéder, vous devez grimper les sept premières longueurs de L'Odyssée.
