Gros Bonnet (A.K.A. Le Cap des Sept Côtes) - Sanatorium, closed for hunting
This year (2025), these two climbing sites will be closed for firearm hunting from Saturday, October 11 to Sunday, October 26, inclusive.
However, the Sanatorium will ALSO be closed for bow and crossbow hunting from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, October 5, inclusive.
Reminder:
these climbing sites are located on private land that is part of the ZEC, but with hunting dates that often differ from those of the ZEC. The landowner has warned us that if he or his friends see us on his property during these dates, he will reconsider our access. So, not going there during hunting season is a small price to pay in exchange for free access the rest of the year
Description
Not many holds in the first half, its all about balance. Don't use the boulder behind you at the start. The small dihedral at the end may look wet but it wont be a problem.
If you are 5'10" or more, you can clip the first bolt by standing of the top of the big boulder, you don't need a stick clip.
Location
Follow the wall toward climber's right until you reach a trail. About 25-50 meters from the big dihedral of Camisole de force, the trail starts to go upward. Follow it and you should eventually see an orange fixed rope that leads to a big ledge. There is currently 2 routes starting on that ledge, the 5.11a is the one on the left. A large boulder close to the wall makes the first moves look like a chimney.
