Please be respectful and keep this access open to climbers. Use posted photos for this area to familiarize yourself with where parking is and is not allowed. Access to all gates must remain available to a truck and trailer. Parking in any way that restricts access to the gates north of the highway will jeopardize access for climbing.
Description
The Temple of the Sun refers to the final resting place of the Holy Grail at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This climb, and its harder extension ("Temple of Doom"), are certainly prizes worthy of your best efforts.
After a short easy slab, the angle quickly steepens and you encounter the first challenge: technical, thin, perhaps improbable moves up into a scoop below a steeper bulge. Rest up on the unique "slot pinch" before launching into the second challenge: exiting up and left out of the scoop on reachy moves between decent holds and directly into the third challenge, a technical face where every hold is just a little worse than you want it to be.
Clip the chains and rejoice, or if you're up for the challenge, seriously consider continuing on to the stellar "Temple of Doom" extension.
