Description
Didn't see this route detailed on MP so figured we'd add it given the easy accessibility and fun moderate climbing. We were told by a local guide that this route is called Escalator (checked against catskillsiceclimbing.com). Fun two-pitch WI2+/3 easily accessible from the lower dark side trail.
To access the first pitch, rap off a large tree near the trail. Once at the bottom, climb ~40ft of steepish steps until the angle lessens and you can hike up ~30ft to the rap tree.
The 2nd pitch starts right off the trail and has the option to climb a series of lower angle steps to the left or a steeper section to the right. ~50ft of fun climbing gets you to a few slings tied around a tree.
