Description

Step up and right from the ledge into a shallow flaring hand crack with ample positive face holds. Pro is kinda tricky down low, but it’s all there.

When the crack peters out, step right on chickenheads to a slabby ramp with a bolt, below a squeeze chimney. Step up and into the 15’ fingers-to-hands crack on the left side the chimney, then make a few of moves up, before gaining some jugs and the chains.

5.8 for a few funky moves plus the crux getting up into the crack, otherwise it would go at 5.7. The ending crack protects extremely well.

Location

Starts about 6’ to the right of Shrimp Salad. Look for the obvious scrub line moving up and then right. Although you can see the chains from the ground, the lone bolt is kinda hard to spot.

Protection

Single rack to BD #3 + nuts, and maybe a second 0.4. One bolt on route besides two-bolt anchor (stainless everything, bolted 10/17/20).

[Hide Comment] The route is short, so we cleaned the crack all the way to the ground and on the FA, decided to add 15' by starting from the landing below and climber's right of Shrimp Salad... didn't really add anything. Nov 2, 2020
