Description Suggest change

A B via ferrata going from the Traunstein parking lot to the Traunsteinhaus. The biggest part of the via ferrata is actually steep hiking. Some iron ladders and cables are found in the beginning, the middle section and the end. It is common to do this via ferrata as a round trip combined with Hans Hernler Steig (A/B).
This via ferrata is also used to decent from the southwest arete climb.

Location Suggest change

Follow the signs from the parking lot to Naturfreundesteig. The start of the via ferrata is located right after the second tunnel you have to walk through. On the via ferrata follow red-white-red markings and trail number 416.
