Description

Beautiful hand crack, gently curving back and forth, slightly leaning to the right. Leads to the tallest point on leaning tower. The crack has a wide section that is just big enough for the perfect knee bar to give your hands a rest near the top. After that, you'll find simple hand jams straight to the anchor. A great intro to crack climbing and Valley of the Moon as a whole.

Location

Scramble up the gully and start on the highest boulder in the gully, typically by scrambling around/under it, then getting on top of the boulder from the far side.

Protection

Pro to hand size, 2 cold shuts at the top.

The crack will take as much gear as you want to place, but I found it to be well protectable with 4 pieces hand sized and smaller. Notice the crescent moon making an appearance, how fitting!
