Waterdog Suggest change

Steep, well protected slab climbing. Lots of rails and good rests. A few insecure clips but for the most part pretty straight forward. Depending on where your belayer stands it’s either 80’ or 100’. Be sure your belayer ties in so you don’t get lowered off the end of the rope! Courtesy clips on top for a quick lower.

I think the climb is right on the edge of 5.10a. Let me know if you agree with the grade. I was tempted to rate it 5.9 but it might be a bit spicy for a beginning 5.9 leader.

Location Suggest change

Located in the cirque right of Sea Monkey. Hike or climb to the top of Pitch 2 of Motorboating then follow the third class ledge to your left into the cirque. It’s on the right side of the cirque. Don’t confuse it with Aquawoman. You will pass Aquawoman on your way to the base of Waterdog.

9 draws. Bring an extra just in case.
