Description Suggest change

The first pitch is lower angle in the grade 2-3 range and ends on a terrace 2/3 of the way up the route where there are plenty of trees for belays. As is typical with the first pitches at NFOP, this pitch can be thin. The second pitch climbs the obvious, steep headwall to the trees. There are plenty of options and lines to be taken here. It can also be climbed in one long pitch with a 70m rope.

Location Suggest change

Emerald City is the steep headwall on the far left side of the cliffband. It's the last big piece of ice you can see from the beaver pond. The approach can take anywhere from a solid hour in lower snow years, to several arduous hours when the snow is high.

Protection Suggest change

Ice Screws, trees for anchors at the top of the first pitch as well as the top of the cliff.
