Description Suggest change

From the left side of the slab, scramble up to a stance below a bulge to clip the 1st bolt. Pull the bulge onto the slab on small, positive edges and continue up the pillar on nice patina plates to its top. Climb the face above the pillar, past seven more bolts, using flakes and edges. Some flakes are hollow and friable. Use with caution.

Location Suggest change

Chuckwalla climbs the left margin of the SW facing triangular slab of Southern Blonde.

Protection Suggest change

12 bolts to double ring Fixe rings.

As the route is 105 ft in length a 70 meter rope is necessary to descend the route line. Otherwise using a 60 meter necessitates rappelling into the gulley between Chuckwalla and What A Face and onto some large blocks in an unpleasant position, in the corridor, that requires intense scrambling to exit.
