Rubik's Arete

V4, Boulder, 15 ft (5 m),  Avg: 3 from 1 vote
FA: unknown
California > Yosemite NP > Yosemite Valley > Yosemite Valle… > Ahwahnee Boulders > Rubik's Boulder
Access Issue: Latest updates on Covid and falcon closures. Details

Start standing with left hand on the arete and right hand on an edge.  Climb up the arete, then make a difficult mantle onto the face.

The obvious left arete on Rubik's boulder.  Note that this is listed as unnamed V4 in the SuperTopo guidebook.  (Although that guidebook makes it look like the arete is followed to the apex of the boulder, which is not the conventional way the problem is done.)

Pads and spotter. Flat landing, but the mantle is high and it's awkward to blow it.
