Turn east from South Main Street and wind your way up Pineview Road until you are forced to turn right onto Evergreen Drive (about 1.5 km). Follow this for about 500 m until it ends in a cul-de-sac. Please be considerate and don't block driveways when you park, change into your shorts in public, or use neighbourhood lawns as picnic or bike repair sites. (Yes, these thoughtless acts all occurred on the Easter long weekend!)
At the moment you can still access The Canoe Trail from the powerline access road, but this could change anytime once construction of the new development at the end of Evergreen starts (so check the access update page for the latest information). Go through the yellow gate on the east side of the cul-de-sac and almost immediately turn right onto the powerline access road at a second yellow gate. Follow this for 20 metres and then turn left onto a well worn trail that leads down to the valley floor at the south end of a small pond and the start of The Canoe Trail.
If you are allergic to Poison Ivy be vigilant; there are lush growths of it along this trail.
