A pair of golden eagles regularly nest on Bridge Creek Wall. When in effect, starting January 1, PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB or travel within 1/2 mile of Bridge Creek Wall. As a reference, the climb Condorphamine Addiction is just outside of this 1/2 mile buffer, and is OK to climb still. The closure extends through August 15, but there is active monitoring to determine if the seasonal closure can be lifted earlier.
In 2014, there was an active pair of peregrine falcons at Snow Creek Wall, but no official closure was put in effect due to the location of the falcons. The site will be continually monitored with changes or removal of closures updated as necessary.
Description
Location
A little upstream from the Sleeping Lady, but on the other side of the river. You'll have no problem seeing it from the mad meadows parking pullout.
There are a few ways one could get here:
1. Walk/swim across in the pools just below the boulder. I did this in early Aug 2023 and the water was medium-low and was able to walk most of the way then swim for 10 feet with my chalk and shoes held above my head. The water is probably too cold and flowing too fast for this to be a safe option in the earlier months.
2. Park about 100-150 yards upstream from the mad meadows pullout at another pullout where you can cross on rocks requiring some hopping but generally was chill. Then follow the side of the river back downstream to the boulder. (10-15 min)
3. Apparently some of the boulders in the river just infront of La Hacienda can be bridged with a ladder fairly easily but I have not personally tried this.
