[Hide Comment] Who the fuck bolted a crack... in Squamish... the route takes gear and was FA'd on gear. Not that hard to protect. Sep 29, 2021

[Hide Comment] Stellar hand and finger jamming on amazing rock! The bolts are puzzling. It would take gear all the way up except the last 15 feet. I had my cams but clipped the bolts instead. Call me lazy. I figure it's 95 percent sport up there, they were probly' thinking it's a good way for people to learn to jam without the added stress of placing gear. It's super fun climbing, a little shorter but easily the equal of an Octopus Garden route. Aug 10, 2022

[Hide Comment] I didn’t bring my rack so I just clipped the bolts, but agree with others that it seems a shame. I suppose Mark is correct that it can serve as a practice route for new crack climbers without stressing over gear. Jul 6, 2025
[Hide Comment] The route was led on gear before it was bolted (by the same team). The route needed a lot of cleaning. Without bolts to encourage frequent ascents it would have mossed over within a year or two. People don't bring trad gear to Chek. Aug 28, 2025
