Description Suggest change

The 50 meter Y Slab has been scrubbed by avalanches and snow creep, rendering a clean, easy slab studded with pockets for protection and jugs for gripping. The Right Y is a beautiful pitch of 5.5. Left of the Left Y is a classic 5.8- and the Left Arête is 5.6, even the overhang has big holds and good protection.

The hardest we could find was a 5.10 mini arch, overhang at ground level.

4th class up an easier 2nd pitch; then scramble left or right to trail at Petzolt Caves.

Or sling white bark pine at 55m and rap.

Location Suggest change

In the Grand Teton avalanche path west of Spalding Falls. Y Slab obvious.

Protection Suggest change

1 to 2 sets cams, 1 set wires for pro and anchor. (no fixed anchors) scramble off left. Long sling for a tree at 55m if rapping.
