Unnamed 5.8 Overhang

5.9, Sport, TR, 40 ft (12 m),  Avg: 2.5 from 15 votes
FA: unknown
Oregon > Mt Hood Nationa… > Trillium Lake C… > Section 2

Description

Fun moderate with an overhung start. The crux is low, but the first two bolts are easy enough to clip. No rest immediately after the overhang—keep going. Rest of the route is more like 5.6 and mossy, but still fun.

Location

Far left side of Section 2 wall before the ravine separating 2 and 3.

Protection

5 bolts, anchors. There is a bolt high above for lowering down to setup a TR.

[Hide Comment] This route has 2 variations. At the 2nd bolt you can head left or right over a small roof and then they merge back right after that. Also this route is fairly short but you can climb past the anchors and clip 1 more bolt and head up to the anchors up and right for the 5.7 next to it. Nov 7, 2019

[Hide Comment] Yes...both variations are fun to try. I think this is the best of the easier climbs at Trillium. Jul 22, 2023
