Hole in the Bucket

Description

Start on two monos just left of Ignition. After a few hard pulls on thin holds, confront an extremely difficult crux. It appears something may have broken here, as the grade feels much harder than 5.12c that the guidebook suggests. After gaining a few more thin pockets, head up into much easier terrain. Shares anchors with Ignition.

Location

The first bolt line left of Ignition, heading up and slightly right.

Protection

Bolts. Open cold shut anchors.

[Hide Comment] A left facing sidepull seems to have broken below the second bolt, making this move very difficult. 12+/13-? Aug 17, 2020

[Hide Comment] I don’t get how this thing even goes from bolt 2 to 3, I need to see some beta Aug 11, 2021

[Hide Comment] I found the best beta is to get the pinch/sidepull jugrail with left hand and move right hand to a sidepull pocket crimp, after that you heel hook the rail(the one with you hand on it) with left foot, and get somewhat insecure semi highish right foot. Use either a crappy sidepull or a sloper for anintermediary and deadpoint up to the two finger pocket with your left hand, and then you simply crank off of them and move up your right hand. Still hard but anyone who is vertically challenged can still use this beta Aug 26, 2021

[Hide Comment] The crux feels about v7-ish but requires a large wingspan. I'm 6 foot with a +2 ape index and could barely stick the move. Shorter people might be able to find different beta but it might be harder than v7 Apr 3, 2022
