Description

P1 5.3 50ft Start in a 20 foot, fist-sized crack.  There is a hangerless bolt on the slab above the terminus of the crack which can be slung with a nut.  Transition to slab left, or move right around a mountain laurel onto the slab.  There are several opportunities to place cams on the way to the Mussy Hooks on the headwall.

P2 5.3 50ft From mussy hooks traverse the head wall left plugging large cam in seam mantle ledge at pine tree below Grass Fed anchors. Continue traversing left moving around the flake and up top out upper shaman wall. Two options for anchor use tree directly in front of you as you top out or use anchors for Grass Fed. For rappel use anchor for Watch your Nutellas to get back to where you started.

Beautiful views and nice exposure with very relaxed climbing. Only 5.3 multi pitch at Big Rock.

Location

At the large balancing rock, face the wall, and look for the obvious large crack.  rightmost route on the wall.

Protection

Big Rock rack, 1 hangerless bolt, Mussy Hooks for anchors at P1 anchors with rings P2

[Hide Comment] Easy even for 5.3, but a fun romp on alligator-skin friction. Could be worth another star if the protection bolt got a hanger and the open cold shuts were replaced with a real anchor. Nov 13, 2019

[Hide Comment] Only 5.3 multi pitch at Big Rock worth the climb cool exposure with no serious climbing. Can be done in one continuous pitch or broken down into 2 short pitches for fun or practice. Note the shuts on P1 have been replaced with new mussy hooks. Both anchors atop pitch 2 have rappel rings. Dec 2, 2023
