Per JF M: as of May 2022, there is no signage on-site, nor information on the USFS webpage for the Cameron Peak Fire (nor on their published map of closures) that indicates the area is closed.
Per Bruce Hildenbrand: it appears that the Forest Service has closed access to all the climbing areas accessed via Storm Mountain Road (Monastery, Cedar Park, Combat Rock, etc.) until they can clear all the dangerous dead trees from the Cameron Peak fire.
I worked this issue with Eric Murdock at the AF, and it looks like the Forest Service picked Devil's Gulch Road as the southern boundary even though all the climbing areas on MP.com were not burned.
Description
Start with the first 5 bolts of "Rain on the Mountain". Instead of moving out right onto the slab at the 5th bolt, move left, and continue up the arching crack/seam feature toward the top of the wall. Slings are recommended for the 5th and 6th bolts to reduce rope drag. Climb past 4 more bolts with increasing difficulty through the crux until you reach the horizontal break. Clip 2 more bolts through moderate terrain as you climb the left side of the upper bulge, and mantel onto the final ledge to reach the anchor out right.
This was originally established as a spicy mixed route. More bolts were later added to make it a better protected sport route.
