Access Issue: Bird closures
Details
Seasonal bird closures are often in effect in spring and summer. Consult the BMC Regional Access Database at
thebmc.co.uk/modules/RAD/ for up to date information. Yellow signs with detailed closure info and painted red hats with arrows demarking closed sections should also be obeyed.
Description
UK E1 5b
While the easiest way back out of the Leap (prusiking aside), a bold boulder-y start means it shouldn't be underestimated (and perhaps shouldn't be selected by a fledgling E1 leader). Get established in the lower groove and head up and to a corner to the right of a large roof. Follow to the top, belay off a stake.
Location
This is on the less intimidating east wall of the Leap, not very far from the abseil. Follows the large collection of features right of the initial smooth wall.
Protection
Standard rack, no large cams needed.
