A few starts are possible. Until recently most would scramble uphill to where the ledge meets the ground, then traverse right along the ledge, past the trees to get to the crack. It is now possible to climb straight up the wall directly below the crack although this is probably harder than 5.9 but a slight run out is protected by a new bolt.

Look partway up the wall to locate a small ledge with a very large tree growing out of it. This route climbs the cracks to the right of the tree.
