Access Issue: Parking and Dogs Details

CRAG-VT has secured a parking lot for the Bolton Dome! Currently there is room for 12 cars. Turn onto Champ Ln. and the parking lot is immediately seen on the left. There are signs to show you where to park. From the lot, walk up to the cliff.

IF THE LOT IS FULL: Park on the SOUTH side of the road clear of any mailboxes and with all tires off the paved portion of the road.

Additionally, no dogs are allowed at Bolton Dome after a few incidents involving neighbors.

Description

Begin in the short splitter hand crack to a stance where the terrain eases off. Romp up the easy slab to a new two-bolt anchor.

Location

25 feet right of The Country Doctor's Ramble and 20 feet left of Welcome to Bolton.

Trad. Newly installed anchor.

The first 15' or so is a solid 7+ with thoughtful moves and interesting position. My big hands didn't allow for any proper jams, smaller hands may be better suited for this crack. Lets up to fun but easier 5.6 to the top imo Jun 2, 2019

I'm a little bummed this route is only rated 2.7 stars. For me, it was perfect hand jams, and a classic route especially in Bolten. I get that it's not the longest route, but New Yosemite at the NRG is a fairly short route, but hand jams that are slightly bigger (perfect for my boyfriend). This seems biased toward bigger hands (cough, men).

TLDR: If you have thinner hands, this route is an absolute blast. Oct 15, 2020

I was leading today and noticed a loose chockstone above the crux maybe 25ft off the deck. It definitely feels like it wouldn't take much to break it loose. Wondering if there would be support for removing it? I'd love to help! If so, just looking for some feedback and a general consensus. Also looks like a nice #4 c4 would fit nice and secure in the chockstone's place :) Aug 21, 2023
