Construction Timelines - Updated June 3, 2020
At this time we are still moving ahead with capital projects, this project is a key piece of infrastructure for the safety of the community. The contract to construct the Debris Flood Retention Structure has been awarded to Flatiron Constructors Canada Limited. The contract was awarded at a value of $32.8 million. They bring essential experience in building large infrastructure projects in challenging locations.
We expect construction to start in early July
Construction will be completed in 2022, with final landscaping complete in 2024
Trails in the area will be impacted in the following way:
Cougar Creek Canyon will be closed during construction
The two multi-use pathways on either side of the creek will remain open - short closures may be necessary
Montane trail and the Horseshoe trail systems will remain open - short closures may be necessary
The Lady MacDonald Trail will remain open - short closures may be necessary

Description
Scramble to a high first/second bolt and pull up onto sandy ledge. Techy climbing leads you through a bulge into vert and then restful slab before you hit a section of super jugs where the wall kicks back again.
Zig zag across the bolt line on super jugs to the top, except for that one spot where there are chalk stains on holds that aren't super jugs!
Location
Towards the right end of the wall, look for about 5 m of 4th class/low 5th climbing to a ledge and a 2 m shield feature. There are a 2 bolt lines that go over this feature, Tickle My Fritter is the left bolt line. The first two bolts are relatively close, the second bolt being maybe 1.5 m up and left of the first.
