Description

Starting at a large boulder place your left hand on the arete and climb up the narrow face. The crux is a fairly easy move but tenuous for a 5.5 leader, and your gear is at your feet. This route is not recommended for someone not comfortable at the grade.

Location

Starting on a large boulder, climb up the slabby right side of the arete at the right end of the Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man face.

Protection

A standard Gunks rack offers mediocre pro. A gear anchor is possible at the top with large pieces (#4/#5) but I suspect most people will walk back to trees about 30 feet from the edge.
