Warning Access Issue: Falcon Nesting Closure at Castle Rock DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

Relaxed crimping gets you past the first three bolts and into the crack. Take the crack up a little ways. Then, traverse right onto the thin face and pull some hard crimps to progress. The angle lessens and the climbs eases, but not too much, at the top.

Good, occasionally creative, footwork is helpful. Opportunities for slab trickery abound.

Location Suggest change

The route begins on the left edge of the big triangle (the crack forms the right edge) and climbs it for three bolts. Then join the crack briefly before finishing up and to the right.

Protection Suggest change

Ten bolts (2020) to a two-bolt anchor with chains + mussy hooks.

For top rope, the anchors may be accessed by a short rap off a tree. Watch out for poison oak up there.
