Description

Pretty sweet route with a variety of climbing. Start on Hagfish and climb the technical first four bolts. Cut left here to the steep arete. Good rest before pulling the bulge. Fun side pull climbing with tricky feet for a couple bolts. Then the climbing eases but keeps you thinking with long slab moves and a final pull over a shallow roof to the anchor.

Location

Leftmost route on the main fish bowl wall, finishes on obvious arete

Protection

10 bolts and closed anchor

I remember looking at this line a long time ago, but I bailed because I thought the whole arete feature was composed of a giant semi-detached block. There was a crack running up both sides of it. That was enough to spook me away. I take it you didn't find anything worth being worried about?? Apr 16, 2018

Hey Greg, I figured you looked at it and found the same thing I saw. I ended up avoiding that fractured feature and staying out right of it on the face. Took some cleaning but turned out pretty good. Lucky for you, you had a canyon full of cherries to pick. Apr 16, 2018

BBQ's Favorite New Route of 2018! THIS ROUTE IS TASTERS! Throws hard moves and a pucker-factor full of exposure right in your face! The first four bolts of Parker's route gives you sick pockets and hard as nails crimps and a good run out from the third to the nail-biting clip of the fourth. Mark's bolt line gives you the magnificent, hair-raising exposure that limestoner adventure climbers crave. My hat's off to both of you! Mark, I'd give you a Golden Bucket Award for this one, but the "Mountain Project Gods" don't allow that sort of thing anymore. GREAT WORK! KEEP PUTTING UP LINES LIKE THIS ONE! I can now feel good about deleting my MP account after this inner Zissou releasing experience. Apr 16, 2018
