Description

This line is the steepest way up Big Mother. The crux to all the climbs on Huerfano Peak is waiting for when the road conditions and ice conditions converge. Historically all points align around Easter. Challenges to consider are the possible snowbusting and mud on the road, the multi-mile slog with snowshoes, and the creek crossing. Getting to the climb is the hard part. This area is in a spectacular setting, True Colorado.

Location

It is located to right of Birth Canal and goes directly up the center of the ice flow.

Protection

Screws. Bushwhack through willows to a conifer with slings and rap ring at the top.
