Description

On the south side of the boulder. Moves left and up through deceptively good holds. Start with a mantel at the right side of the sloping ledge  Stand up there, traverse left, then go up. The route is fairly straightforward once you’re off the ground

According to legend, this was done by the Bird while carrying a jug of wine. Hence the name of the boulder.

Location

South Face of Wine Boulder

[Hide Comment] Someone please help give better description because my partner and I THINK we found this super legendary problem but are definitely not sure. Mind boggling how little info there is about this route considering the folklore behind it. Feb 3, 2020

[Hide Comment] Glen Denny mentions this boulder in his memoir. People would drink a cup of wine after each lap on the boulder and whoever did the most laps would win. Mar 15, 2024

[Hide Comment] I updated the description. Hopefully it makes sense…

It’s hard to think of problems you’ve done a hundred times as anything other than super straightforward. Mar 15, 2024
