Description [Suggest Change]

Climb the middle of the low angle slab, following a series of swoops, crimps, and nubbins. A crucial thundercling and steady feet may just unlock the crux of the route. Or you could do as my friend Greg did and just walk up the thing, but where's the fun in that!?

Location [Suggest Change]

It is the middle line up the greenish slab on the northeast face.

Protection [Suggest Change]

Currently a chopped sport route, the toprope anchors are accessed from walking around the boulder and shares with Chinese Sausage.

Instead of classifying this as a chopped sport route, we can just call it a toprope route or an easy highball. OR we could just as easily call it a trad route that has been vandalized with a drill. Thanks. Apr 15, 2018

Tim, you can whine about these routes however you wish in your next book. Or you can keep wasting your time whining on here. While you're at it you can list a some useful gear placements for this route, considering it's a friction slab ;) Have fun impressing your style on everyone else! Apr 15, 2018

Dude retro-bolts a classic boulder problem then berates someone else for "impressing your style on everybody else"....

There are plenty of easy sport routes in and around Durango but not quite so many super easy highball boulders. There is plenty of rock and room for all the different styles to co-exist in harmony. Please don't change the nature of a long established climb, especially if you didn't do the FA.

On the other hand, if you wanted to find some new undeveloped rock, clean it up, and bolt it to establish more easy sport routes that would be a great contribution to the community. Just don't mess with existing routes, please. Apr 20, 2018
