Pillars of the Community

WI5-, Ice, Alpine, 240 ft (73 m), 2 pitches,  Avg: 3.5 from 15 votes
FA: Alex Lowe, Todd Cozzens, John Wasson, 1993/94
Wyoming > Cody > S Fork Shoshone… > 2. N Facing/S Side > 1. Lower Bench

Description

An amazing 2 pitch route just 100 meters left of Joy After Pain. First pitch climbs up a narrow slot with a chock stone guarding the exit (sometimes very thin and possibly mixed). The second pitch climbs an ever steepening pillar with some cool rests and exposure. There is a 3rd pitch that forms up the gully. We didn't climb it but a friend said it was 4+ and worthwhile.

Location

100 m left of Joy After Pain on the Lower Bench area.

Protection

Screws. Maybe rock gear for the first pitch if it is thin.
