On the Castle? aka off-limits? South side? aka in full view? Sep 24, 2018

It is not on the castle. It’s kind of around behind the castle but on the big formation across the wash that is lower angle on the bottom tier and vertical on the top. You wouldnt see the splitter until you’re in front of the route.

The wall is slightly less than vertical. I don’t think it’s visible from the road but honestly don’t recall. We found it while going out to climb Jimmy Hendricks’ route Sand Shower (see hand drawn overview map)

Pardon my memory. We climbed it 20 years ago and I cant provide exact landmarks. The hand drawn overview map photo I included is from my journal the day of the FA.

It’s a good (and stout) route. Splitter crack parallels an off hands/offwidth corner to the left. They veer apart then back together before the anchor. Bring some new webbing. Sep 24, 2018
