The Cougar

V10, Boulder, 30 ft (9 m),  Avg: 4 from 2 votes
FA: D. Mauz - 2011
Arizona > Northern Arizona > Northern AZ Bou… > Flagstaff Bould… > San Francisco P… > First Gully Bou… > Tasty Pancho

Description

Start on a jug undercling - manuever up the cobra-like arete using awesome holds. The crux involves a long deadpoint to an incut crimp slot leading to a committing finish high above pads requiring more balance than strength. The top out can get somewhat dirty - would recommend cleaning. This classic feature begs to be climbed.

Location

From the Easy Party Boulder, continue up the trail another five minutes and take a trail to the left which switchbacks up the hill. Up the trail you will find the Tasty Pancho boulder, walk directly to the left and you will find the ominous Cougar.

Protection

Pads, good landing
