Access Issue: Seasonal Peregrine Closure Details

The park closes on February 1st and remains closed until July 15th to protect nesting peregrine falcons. Their annual nesting spot is on the Shining Wall, though they can be heard year-round. Please respect the closure and DO NOT CLIMB AT MADRONE WALL BETWEEN FEB 1st AND JULY 15th. Updates to the status of the park will posted on Clackamas County Park's website - clackamas.us/parks/madronew… - and on the Madrone Wall Preservation Committee facebook page - facebook.com/madronewall/.

Description

Very brief extension to Beginner's Luck. From the anchor ledge move straight up the finger/hand crack to the anchor alcove. This can easily be done as a single pitch, just bring a few extra cams.

This feels harder than a 10- to me. My struggle may of been due to it being kinda dirty but I've climbed it 3 or 4 times and it still seems hard. The anchors on the top are super sweet glue ins and the route is definitely worth doing and the traffic may clean it up and make it feel more 10-. Jul 16, 2021

This route is pretty dirty at the moment. There were no signs of a recent ascent when I climbed it. I broke off a decent-sized flake that I used for a foot-hold as well. Please proceed with caution if you climb it! Aug 14, 2023
