The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.
Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:
Blonde Formation
Bumbling Stock
Evil Area
Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden
From JeffCo Open Space:
Beginning on Tuesday 7/25, the Front Range Climbing Stewards will be starting a month-long project at Canal Zone. They will be working to protect and harden the base area beneath Box of Rain at the east side of the crag (looker's left). This work will involve harvesting and quarrying rock from all around the crag, transporting it to the worksite and building retaining structures and belay platforms. Because of the proximity to the climbing area, some routes may be temporarily closed as the team works. If you see the team out there, first give them a kudos for their hard work, then ask where they would prefer for you to climb or not climb.
Please give this team space as they work. Expect temporary closures Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm over the next four to six weeks.

Description
Start out on Bear's Choice, and bail right to Box of Rain at the roof for an easy variation. This is an awesome route ... there are a few tougher moves near the beginning of the route.
