Description

Sit start with left hand high on the arete and right hand on the blank face, fight a barn door and make a cool move to a 2 finger pocket on the face. From there use a lot of core and some fancy foot work to top her out. If you're having a hard time getting of the ground then just do the stand, it's well worth it and probably a v3!

Location

The left arete of the Milestone boulder

Protection

Interesting, I had to sit my body uncomfortably close to the wall to reach the hold with one pad. Even then i only pulled on one time due to the right body position (I think it was magic actually). The two pad stack was essentially where i tried a low squat start and was more enjoyable. Aug 19, 2017

Thanks Alec, I did it from the stand first, and I definitely thought the sit would be silly and not worth doing initially until I figured it out and i thought it actually climbed equally as well as the stand personally. I did end up actually needing two pads to get off of the ground though. I'm also shorter than you as well so I might just fit into the sit a little better. Here's a clip of how I did I if you or anyone else is curious.

Fun line. I'm a little torn on the rating. From a squat with a hand already in the pocket, it felt like a 4 star V2. The sit detracted a star or two since it felt very forced and a little awkward (for the beta i tried at least) to make the first move but did bump the grade up to what felt like 4-.

One thing to note is that the ground was still soft and squishy when I hopped on it. The more it compacts may change the difficulty of the start move if it adds a few inches. Aug 16, 2017
