Description

I found a route on the upper right-hand face of Whirlpool Rock and don't know who did it or what they named it. I climbed it and thought it was 11 c or d. I believe it had six bolts. I am looking for information on who did it and what the name is!

Climb about four bolts up on an arete of four bolts into a bouldery roof area. The chains were put to far back from the lip, so it's horrible on your rope when you're cleaning the route.

Location

This is on the upper right-hand face of Whirlpool Rock, past Flexible Flyer about 60 feet. You get a hillside belay.

Protection

6 bolts.

I totally forgot about this thing. Myself and a friend bolted and climbed this line in July of I think 2007. I felt it was 5.11 at the time. We intensely scrubbed the grime off the upper cruxy face which made it feel a lot easier than 11+ probably (only to find out the next spring it was nasty as ever!). As for the weird anchor location, if the chains we over the lip, you could clip them and finish with out doing the last crux finishing move to the jug. I was young in my new routing at the time. Next time I'm around, I'll add some chains to the anchor. Aug 15, 2017
